3 Healthy, Cool and Easy to Make Summer Drinks

Are you looking for healthy and organic drinks this summer?

Do you want to make a few easy drinks that are not full of sugar? And obviously, not full of aspartame :)

Can you think of something flavorful, healthy and refreshing that your kids will enjoy as well?

When we think about healthy drinks, herbal and green teas come to mind.

What about in the summer time?

Teas are not a typical refreshment drink, are they?

Can you imagine your kids enjoying a cup of green tea in the summer?:)

I recently came across of a very old clipping.  There were several green ice tea recipes.  I modified them to suit the needs of people who are looking for a healthy and organic lifestyle.

These recipes are great for adults and kids alike. If your kids are not addicted to sugar, they will love the flavours and refreshing quality of the drinks below.

I suggest to use organic green tea throughout the summer because organic green tea is loaded with antioxidants and has been proven to have many other beneficent properties including weight loss as I’m sure you know.

Here are 3 recipes, enjoy and please let me know if you have any idea how to improve them.

Cool Green Tea and Mango/Peach Party

1) Brew medium/strong Organic Green Tea.

2) Cool the tea.

3) Add 20 to 40% of organic Peach/Mango juice. Happy Planet’s ‘Peach Mango Party’ is an excellent choice.

4) It should be sweet enough, but if you like it sweeter, you may add more juice or sweeten it with a healthy sweeteners like stevia, agave, etc. You can also add few ice cubes to your glass.

 Cool Green Tea Berry Splash

1) Brew medium/strong Organic Green Tea.

2) Cool the tea.

3)  Pour the tea into a bottle with a cap or into a thermos.

4) Add a handful of berries.  Raspberries, strawberries and red currants are excellent choices. You may want to slightly crush the berries for faster flavors infusion.

5)This tea is not sweet but it is very flavorful. You can sweeten it with healthy sweeteners like agave, stevia, etc. But try it straight, you may like it.

6) Shake, let stand for about 1hour or refrigerate overnight.

7) Shake well before use. Remove the berries if you don’t like the berries inside your drink.  I don’t mind berries in my drink, my kids enjoy getting an occasional berry as well.

I you like to add ice cubes, try berries in ice cubes. Berries in ice cubes are made the same way as a regular ice cubes, except you will need to add a berry or two before freezing.  These berries ice-cubes  are gorgeous and add a classy touch.

Flavored Green Tea

If you are a purist, then you will probably like this one.

1) Brew your favorite Organic Green Tea. I like Four O’clock ‘Flavored’ teas, they are subtle and have delicate flavors.   Organic Jasmine Green Tea, Organic Green Tea with Rose, and Organic Tropical Mango Green Tea, works very well. But again, there are many other teas which will work just as well.

2) Cool the tea.

3) If you like, you may sweeten it with healthy sweeteners like stevia, agave, etc. You may also want to add ice-cubes.
