Is This A New Miracle Oil?

The oil that has been labelled unhealthy in the 60’s has had a major profile change!coconut

Coconut oil increases good cholesterol in our body (HDL). It was labelled bad because at that time, scientists didn’t differentiate between the good cholesterol (HDL) the bad one (LDL).  Cholesterol was perceived as ALL bad, period.

Uses for Coconut Oil

 

Because coconut oil  has either no flavour or a mild nutty flavour which most people find pleasant, you can use coconut oil as a substitute for cooking oil.

 

Coconut oil changes its properties as the external temperature changes. It is a liquid during the warm summer months and a solid during the cold winter months, so for some recipes that call for liquid oils, you need to melt it first.

 

Coconut Oil is a great substitute for hydrogenated oils such as margarine. So use it for those recipes that call for solid fat.

 

Coconut oil because of its high burning point (i.e. it remains stable at the high temperatures) can be used in baking, cooking, stir-frying and regular frying.

 

Choose Organic, Pure and NON- Hydrogenated Coconut Oil

 

You want your coconut oil to be pure and NON- Hydrogenated otherwise it defeats the purpose of its health benefits.

 

I always buy organic which is widely available, and it is relatively inexpensive.

 

And the benefits of buying organic far outweigh the small price difference over the non-organic.

 

So Next Time You Are Out Shopping

 

Get yourself a jar of the organic coconut oil.

 

If possible, buy it in a glass jar.
