3 Must Have Vitamins to Boost Immune System
Do you feel that you can use an extra boost for your immune system?
If you eat well and exercise regularly you are already ahead.
However, you might need an extra boost for your immune system this winter, before the flu season comes around.
I’m not big on vitamins and supplements but here are the three top vitamins that my family uses for the fall/winter season:
Vitamin C # 1 Vitamin to Boost the Immune System
Vitamin C has been known to strengthen the immune system. But it also helps reduce free radical damage; it promotes healthy aging and it is good for your heart and cardiovascular system. Vitamin C helps with the ocular system and vision. It helps wounds to heal quicker, it enhances your memory and much more.
Vitamin D # 2 Vitamin to Boost the Immune System – must have for winter
If you live in the northern hemisphere, i.e, Canada, the northern USA, such as New York and Chicago you are not getting enough sunshine during the winter months. You need vitamin D.
Every cell in your body needs vitamin D. Vitamin D supports many functions in your body such as immune health, heart health, the vascular system, eye health, hearing, bones, muscles, digestion and so much more.
Vitamin D also helps with restful sleep, good skin, a graceful aging process, healthy hair, good mood and weight management.
In addition, Vitamin D is often prescribed in conjunction with other vitamins or minerals because it helps your body to absorb other nutrients.
Vitamin B6 and B12 # 3 Vitamins to Boost the Immune System
Not only does Vitamin B boost your immune system, it also boosts your energy level and helps to reduce memory loss. In addition, it also helps nerve and brain function.
Lack of Vitamin B6 and B12 will repress your immune system and may cause chronic cough.
Vitamin B also works with other vitamins and nutrients to support the immune system.
Other Vitamins to Boost Your Immune System
There are also other vitamins and supplements that can help boost your immune system. The ones we’ve mentioned are the best known. Feel free to explore and choose what your body needs.
Find a Good Source
Conventional vitamins, those that you find in a drug store, are not always potent. The best place to get your vitamins is from a health food store or specialized store that carries multiple brands. I would also consult the store staff. If they are knowledgeable they can help you enormously. If you feel that they don’t know much, ask for someone who knows or find another store.
